Request Audit of the 2012 AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement Result

Dear AMAPCEO Members,

The result of the AMAPCEO Tentative Agreement voting indicates that 71% of the members have voted YES. With so many different voices around me, I cannot help questioning the validity of the result.

Regarding the voting process, we are only informed of the voting details the day before the voting. AMAPCEO leaders know if they informed us earlier, we might raise issues regarding the voting process.

The voting was done verbally and there is no confirmation for us that the person on the telephone who cast our vote for us cast it correctly

As AMAPCEO explains, the operator identifies the voter, the actual vote is entered into a separate database that does not include any identifying information.  There is no link between voter and vote.  The only information that is provided to AMAPCEO is non-identifying:  the total number of votes, those voting yes and those voting no.  The list we provide to them is destroyed a reasonable amount of time following the vote.

Why didn’t our AMAPCEO leaders choose the below voting process which would allow us to go back and verify? How can AMAPCEO Leaders and Legal Councils ensure that there is not even human error in the voting recording?

Any manipulation of the voting process should not be allowed. Please note YES to request an audit process to the voting result.
