Microsoft should not be using 'fear tactics' to try to push people back to a product like Outlook that many people abandoned in favor of using things like G-Mail and Google Aps. Their claim that Google is reading your mail is not really accurate in the sense that they also have to 'read peoples text' to do things like spell-check. Apple and other phone services reads our texts and emails to do 'auto-correct' so will we be seeing that used as a fear device as well?
