I'm an American with a disability since 1995, so my parents offered me to return home to live with them. In 1996 I accepted their offer because it was becoming increasingly difficult to live alone. Being a mom was the biggest dream of my life, and in 2006 I adopted my beautiful eight-year-old daughter. I'm blessed that my whole family welcomed her with open arms. My parents wanted to leave their home to my brother and me, but because of the lending fiasco in 200, the home loan became higher than the actual worth of the house and too high to pay. I've been requesting a loan modification from IndyMac Mortgage Services for six years now to no avail. I've submitted every single document they've requested and they keep rejecting my loan modification, claiming I haven't submitted all the documents they requested. This is a lie and it's becoming increasingly clear to me they don't want to authorize my loan modification because my income does not come from a regular job, but comes from my disability retirement from California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), Social Security Disability (SSD), and my daughter's Adoption Assistance Program (AAP). They keep asking me for paystubs for the latter instead of the copies of the checks and the benefit award letters I've submitted. They want the paystubs to reflect my working hours, my Social Security Number or the last four digits thereof, and my earnings year-to-date. The fact that the AAP check is not for a regular job, but for a job that I lovingly do every day regardless of the time and hours and for which I'm on call 24/7 has fallen in deaf ears. All this time my home has been in foreclosure and I've submitted and resubmitted my request for a loan modification and even filed a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy twice to prevent its imminent sale. Unfortunately, my beloved father passed away at the age of 101 and didn't see our home saved. My daughter and I live with my 94-year-old mother whose only desire is to see my daughter and me remain in our home. Please help me tell Mr. Joseph Otting to authorize my loan modification immediately so we can remain in our home.
