Please Minimize Straw Use

This past week on vacation I had the need to eat out several times and was disturbed to see how many restaurants "require" straws to be used.  At one restaurant, straws were already on the table with the place setting and brought with each drink including water EVEN WHEN SERVER ASKED NOT TO BRING.....by the time we left average of 3 straws per person.

At another restaurant straws were still put on the table even when told "we don't use", at end of the meal the waiter threw them in the trash....sad.... 


Straws are waste and not recyclable and hard to re-use....


I am planning on writing several of the restaurants (local and chain) and encourage them to "ask" patrons whether they want straws or not before just assuming they do.....
