People of all economic backgrounds have shopped at the 3 different incarnations of organic grocery stores at 43rd and Main starting with "Clearly Nature's Own," to "Wild Oats," and now simply "Nature's Own". Since November of 2012, Nature's Own has inauspiciously posted a sign stating customers using ebt or "food stamps" will not be welcome until further notice.Nature's Own claims to care for community. Let's not allow them to parade their storefront as a bastion of social justice when they are contributing to a growing inner city food desert as well as a growing divide between the have's and have nots. People on supplemental nutrtion programs deserve access to organic foodstuffs; not just those who can afford to pay cash. Let Nature' Own know that you're not going to patronize their store until all members of the community can afford to do so.
