I have never written a petition before, please excuse my missteps. I'll try to keep this concise and to the point. Wells Fargo Bank has adopted a policy whereby if you are not an account holder at Wells Fargo Bank and you need to cash a check from a Wells Fargo Bank customer whose check is of course drawn on Wells Fargo Bank, you need to cough up a $7.50 fee for each check you cash. Yes, $7.50 to cash their own check, that's correct. My employer uses Wells Fargo Bank, so of course our pay checks are drawn on the bank. In order to be able to cash my pay check I have to pay a $7.50 fee. This is only slightly better than another policy they had in effect for us "non-customers" where before we could even cash our Wells Fargo check we had to undergo a sales pitch from one of their bankers pressuring you into opening a Wells Fargo account. They dropped that part of the policy but the $7.50 fee remains in place. When you think about it, $7.50 per check cashed adds up to quite a bit. I am almost certain it does not cost Wells Fargo anywhere near that much to honor their own checks. The only way to get them to eliminate this fee is to get the attention of the decision maker at Wells Fargo and let him know we will not stand for what amounts to highway robbery just to cash our checks. Please take a minute to sign our petition, it literally only takes a minute, with little to no personal imposition on your privacy. Don't wait until later, later is now! Please sign now and help send a message to big banks that all of its customers matter and should not be subjected to inane fees. Thank you!
