Type 1 Diabetics require accurate nutritional information, specifically CARB COUNTS, to safely calculate insulin dosages. This is not a "lifestyle" issue. TYPE 1 Diabetes is an auto-immune disease, not a punishment for poor eating habits.
In order to SAFELY calculate one's insulin dosage, the carb content of foods must be available. The estimations an individual can make using online databases are just that: GUESSES. And GUESSING frequently results in potentially dangerous blood sugar highs or lows that can best be avoided by having accurate carb information available to the Park Guest.
Historically, Disneyland (and Disney parks, etc.) has been, with a few exceptions, very supportive of disability accommodations for Guests. This is an inexplicable and shameful oversight that should be corrected.
Please stop making Guests risk their health by refusing to provide this critical carb count information, which most food service providers of significant size routinely provide. Thank you!
