Demand the UK Government passes legislation to save its own people from freezing to death this winter.
The cost of energy in the UK has become so expensive that people are dying in their homes from cold weather.
During the winter of 2012/13, an estimated 31,000 people in England and Wales – most over the age of 75 - died because of the cold.
The UK Government needs to roll out an effective programme to save lives by helping to insulate homes, raise the winter fuel allowance and tackle the excessive profits of the Big Six energy companies from raising the price of energy.
Figures show that the energy companies now make £53 profit per customer compared to £8 per customer in 2009 – an immoral profit when official figures reveal winter deaths rose 29 per cent in 2012-2013 to their highest level for four years.
