Natural gas is cleaner and costs significantly less to heat your home and is cleaner than oil. PECO wants $100 per foot to bring natural gas to our neighborhood, however they are not taking into account how they are not only our primary source of electricity, but they would be gaining a plethora of new customers on the heating side of things with their natural gas.
When I called to inquire, I was told I was about 1000 feet away from the nearest gas line. My home alone, would have around 15 other homes the line would pass. Even if 10 people signed up that would be $12,000 a year or so in revenue for their company depending on each person's individual heating needs. Why should they deny us the convenience just because we are in an older neighborhood. Plus it will bring up the value of our homes.
