Starbucks Should Recycle

Starbucks is one of the largest, profitable companies in the world and claims to donate a lot to charities and set examples of green and eco conscious living. "We’re working to shrink our environmental footprint and meet the expectations of our customers. Providing recycling in our stores and ensuring the recyclability of our cups are two of our foremost priorities." Read more here: http://www.starbucks.com/responsibility/environment

We all assumed Starbucks recycled. Living in Seattle, I saw many stores that did recycle. Now in Texas, and other states nearby, I have found NO Starbucks locations that recycle. The ones I frequent, are the largest, highest volume stores.  Almost a year and a half ago, I contacted the Starbucks Corporate office who said they would look into it. Today they (a rep) said in 2015 the goal is to have all stores recycling.  That is too long- years and years in the making- it doesn't make sense and is not globally conscious or reducing their large carbon footprint enough. They need to do more, and faster. If individuals are doing what we can, yet major corporations are not (and yield the largest impact), then how will we save this planet?

I will start to boycott Starbucks until a better answer is revealed.
