Providing flights in and out of Mackay from the Sunshine Coast Airport

The Sunshine Coast airport needs to extend their flight path to include flights in and out of Mackay to accommodate the many workers who have had to resort to finding work outside of the local area.

Currently the airport has extended their services to include international flights. My plea is for them to seriously consider extending their local flight services to include flights to and from Mackay. It becomes inconvenient for workers (and their families) to commute to Brisbane each work cycle to pick up their family members, not to mention the additional cost of travel expenses such as petrol, parking or shuttle bus services.

The Sunshine Coast airport would be stimulating the local economy and would greatly benefit from the significant number of flights that they'd obtain if they were to offer such a flight to and from Mackay. 

I have emailed our local member Jarrod Bleijie who is also supportive of this move and has sent a letter to the Sunshine Coast aiport on my behalf but we need many others to get involved so the airport take this into serious consideration.
