Lower Gas Prices in America

Because our wages can't keep up with the cost of gas and oil to keep us from getting to and from work or to heat or homes we need to drop the price of gas and oil. Doing so people would travel more and go on vacations, housing market would be back up, we could afford new cars and other things we all want, and we would have more jobs available because remember if a company is suffering so are the labors. Also how else are we to put food on the table when our whole pay checks goes to gas and oil, there is no reason for it other than greed. I didn't see these oil men suffering when gas was only a $1.50 so why all the sudden does it go up none stop? Excuse's excuse’s.... So fed up, we are citizens too who also have families that need to survive so come on America lets stand together and put an end to their greed and our money back in our wallets, after all if it wasn't for us in the first place they wouldn't be filthy rich setting on their high horse stuffing their pockets with all our money that we worked very hard for. Let’s turn this country around and bring the oil man DOWN!!!

Reopen Belpre Office

There is a very long wait if you go to Marietta, or Athens Ohio offices to conduct any business with the License Bureau. There were over 23000 transactions in Belpre last year and the other two offices can not handle the increase.

Get the Buses Back on the Road; But Don't Leave Us Behind!

The HRM Transit strike began on Feburary 2nd at approximately 10:30 am.

Since that time, we, the HRM Public, have been part of the conversation between the above listed parties only by means of the press and various press releases. We, the HRM Public, have also been responsible for the largest share of issues this strike action has brought to the public.

As of this date, we, the HRM Public, have had little say in the process. This Petition’s goal is to give to these parties a generalized list that the HRM Public has voiced as it wants. Being the primary sponsor of finances to the parties mentioned above, these goals we, the HRM Public, wish to achieve should be given serious weight during contract negotiations.

These are the requests of the HRM Public to the above mentioned parties:

   1. Metro Transit, the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 508 (Halifax) and any parties critical to contract negotiations are to return to the negotiation table IMMEDIATELY.

   2. Any settlement reached between these parties MUST NOT adversely affect the Metro Transit Ridership or the Halifax Regional Municipality Taxpayer. In short, we are not agreeable to rate or tax hikes to support any contract negotiations.

   3.  The ATU 508 is to conduct itself in a professional, respectful, and more sensitive manner when picketing. We ask that they immediately cease verbal assault of the essential service of Access-A-Bus that has generously been allowed for OUR elderly and disabled persons. We, the HRM Public, recognize you have your right to picket or delay departure of these services, your behaviour is reflective of a lack of respect and support to this vulnerable portion of Our population.

   4. We request that if both sides are truly sincere in their goal of settlement that neither party opts to 'walk away from the table' until a settlement has been reached. We, the HRM Public, would appreciate this level of respect paid to your consumers.

The remedy sought from all parties is to return Metro Transit bus services to the road in as close to a fashion as it was prior to the strike as soon as possible.

It is the goal of the individual creating this petition to serve this as soon as the signature goal is reached.

Thank you for your time.

Force companies to label toxic ingredients on laundry detergent bottles

European regulations ensure that all soaps and detergents on the market are safe. In the U.S., companies who make detergents are not required to disclose the list of ingredients on the bottle. Why is this important ? Because many laundry detergents contain carcinogens (cancer-causing agents).  How can consumers make informed decisions when our laws don't even require companies to disclose the ingredients on labels anymore ?

Request to the Executive Committee to Renew Tim Heckler's Contract

We keep asking “Where is the leadership? The leadership of this Association has and will always be in the Executive Committee, not in any separate group including a Board of Directors with an agenda. We
need to step up and make a stand to:

Request that the Executive Committee renew Tim Heckler’s contract unless the board can come up with concrete reasons why he should not continue as our CEO. Reasons such as a “new direction” and “fresh look” are not valid reasons to dismiss a valued 30-year employee of our association who, under the direction of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors, has been a driving force in the growth of membership, modernization of our world headquarters and negotiated millions of dollars worth of endorsements for USPTA.

stop the high price of gas

We the people needs to show the oil companies and our goverment we ain;t lining their pockets anymore. They raise the prices cause they say it is in just big demand that is bull. We got to put a stop to this our goverment says they cannot do anything. I say bull our goverment controls everything .

Petition to Warn the Japanese People of Mercury Danger

To: The Food Safety Section,
The Department of Medicine and Food Bureau,
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare
E-Mail: syokucommunication@mhlw.go.jp Fax: +81-3-3503-7965

To Whom It May Concern:
There is worldwide concern that mercury accumulated in the human body may pose a serious health risk, especially to pregnant women and children.

As you know, dolphin meat from drive hunts in Taiji, Wakayama prefecture, proved to be highly contaminated with toxic chemicals such as mercury, methyl mercury and PCBs. Repeated chemical analyses have shown that the level of mercury in dolphin meat is much higher than the maximum allowable level set by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan.

We understand that the role of the Department of Food Safety Bureau is to promote food safety, thereby ensuring the health of the Japanese people. We urgently request the following:

1. Prohibit the sale of dolphin meat that contains mercury exceeding the maximum allowable level set by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW). The sale of food items with toxic agricultural chemicals exceeding the maximum allowable level set by MHLW is already prohibited as a result of the “Positive-list System,” which was adopted in 2006. Since mercury is as harmful to the human body as toxic agricultural chemicals, the “Positive-list System” should also apply to mercury.

2. Until the above request is put into effect, consumers must be warned of the dangers associated with consuming mercury contaminated dolphin meat, in much the same way they are being warned of the health risks associated with smoking cigarettes: Every store that sells dolphin meat must be obligated to post a prominent warning label on each meat package, stating as follows: “This food item possibly contains mercury exceeding the maximum allowable level set by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Mercury accumulated in the human body may harm your health.”

Sincerely,

End Mountaintop Removal at Alpha Natural Resources

Since the 1970s, mountaintop removal (MTR) coal mining has reportedly destroyed wildlife habitat, poisoned water supplies and harmed communities throughout Appalachia. Additionally, health hazards suspected to be linked to the toxic byproducts of mountaintop removal include cancer and liver and kidney disease.

Concerned citizens, ask Alpha Natural Resources to stop mountaintop removal mining and support alternative sources of energy instead.

Tell Goldman Sachs to Better Align Pay with Shareholder Interests

Over the past few years, the decisions made by large banking organizations have greatly impacted our families. To better align shareholder and consumer interests with corporate behavior, we're asking Goldman Sachs to decrease the incentive for risky investments. In the past, executives and employees have received compensation based on risk taking and short term return. We want to change this.

We're asking Goldman Sachs to link long term business growth, sustainable value creation and compensation to help discourage excessive risk taking.

STOP THE MANDATORY USE OF TIMELINE

Although some like timeline, many many others would like a CHOICE from FACEBOOK that would rather keep it the way it is....if not, i have a feeling FACEBOOK will lose alot of people.

Defeat Big Tobacco, Pledge to Vote Yes on Prop. 29!

Lung cancer is responsible for more than 1 in 4 cancer deaths. It's a health crisis that demands attention and increased efforts to lower the death toll.

The best way for us to combat the disease is to take this issue back to the source. Cigarettes are the most common contributing factor of lung cancer, and are the very beginning of many tragedies. Proposition 29 on California's June ballot would raise money for cancer research by raising taxes on cigarettes.

Discouraging people from purchasing cigarettes while attaining funding for lung cancer research would help prevent and treat lung cancer.

Big tobacco is very aware that this initiative will be bad for their business, and will surely spend tens of millions of dollars to get people to vote no on the proposition. But they could care less about lung cancer or our health, as long as they're making money.

Defeat big tobacco and say yes to a healthy California. Pledge to vote YES on Proposition 29 in California's June ballot!

Listen to the people

Over the last two years many residents of ARC have seen an increase of rent with a decrease of services. The point of this petition is to make sure that the rules that ARC has established when original leases were signed are upheld and adhered to, and if change was made the reason in doing so. We as upstanding residents would also like to be able to establish rules that also benefit us and our living standards that ARC must uphold.

-Residential street repair and upkeep
-Security services reinstated or established
-Better upkeep park that has a direct impact on residents
-Riddance of rules that do not effect and/or prohibits residential continuance

Subsidize qualified Americans to lower the price of oil to start a war of attrition with Iran since

Gas prices are too high and will stall out our recovery for a while so Congress needs to print and coin some money to lower the prices at the pump since we are the richest nation in the world and we can write off the money spent at the General Accounting Office using the Department of Transportation in the expense column and have the Internal Revenue Service give the Federal Reserve Bank the money as a refund since we still have the world's reserve currency and we can break Iran through attrition. This can solve all of our high oil prices and keep us from having to add any more money to the deficit. As far as President Obama's plan to have high oil prices as an incentive to buy "green" transportation, there is no way that can work since people are spending their savings for gas and cannot afford hybrid cars or any other fuel efficient cars so it's just another one of his bankrupt schemes.

We Refuse to Pay Extortionate Smart Meter Opt Out Fees

We the below refuse to pay any additional fees to retain our analog meters or have smart meters that were installed without our permission replaced with a safe, reliable analog.

Because utility rates include the cost of the smart meter and associated infrastructure, those choosing to keep an analog should not only be able to do so for free- we should get a refund!

It is now clear that utilities are only requiring opt out fees in order to prevent a mass abandonment of the technology.  According to industry research, more than 60% would opt out if the choice were free.

Any so-called 'opt out' fee is equivalent to a protection racket run by criminal utility syndicates.  We refuse to be gouged.  We refuse to pay this extortion.  We stand together in the face of this injustice.

Keep Warren G. Murray Developmental Center Open

We would like to support the cause to keep the Murray Developmental Center open as it is vital to the livelihood of our residents, employees, city, and entire region.

Lower Gas Prices Now!

We are calling for Congress to cap profits/prices for American oil and gasoline. American oil companies are selling our Nations resources to other countries.  It's time for Congress to pass new laws to keep our oil in America and set lower prices.

Bring Value to Restore Our National Spirit

Are you fed up with wink & nod business practices?

Business leaders need to ask themselves: Are we bringing value to consumers, or are we preying on people? Are we selling quality products and services? Do we fairly and competitively price goods and services? Do we respect customers and employees?

Many business leaders ignore fundamental values. At a time when they need to restore our economy and spirit by bringing value.

Sign this petition. Tell business executives and chamber of commerce officials that you will not tolerate wink & nod business practices. That you demand value.
